Palm oil are also known as dende oil. It is edible vegetable oil which is made from pulp of oil palms. It is basically reddish in color because of high beta-carotene content in it. Palm oil contains fat which are composed of fatty acids, esterified with glycerol. Palm oil and vegetable oil are one of the few highly saturated vegetable fats which are semi-solid at room temperature. They can grow upto 20 metres and have average life of 25 years.
Uses: Palm oil is used for preventing Vitamin A deficiency, cancer and brain disease. It also helps in ageing and trearing malaria.
